2021 NFL Draft: 5 players the Cleveland Browns could draft at No. 26
By Josh Brown
1. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah may not be the specimen that some of the previous players on this list are at 6-1 and 216-pounds, but he has made an impact anyway. In just two years at Notre Dame, Owusu-Koramoah had 142 total tackles, 24.5 for loss, seven sacks, seven passes defended, and five forced fumbles.
Owusu-Koramoah is clearly the best coverage linebacker in the 2021 NFL draft. He can cover nearly anyone from running backs to wide receivers. He is an explosive athlete, which makes him great at getting to the quarterback and stuffing the edges in the run game. He is more like having a third safety on the field than a linebacker. He may the perfect hybrid player that a lot of NFL teams look for.
While his size and speed are great in many ways, it will hinder his play overall in the run game. The NFL linemen’s size could be a concern if he does not improve taking and shedding blocking.
Overall, he can make an instant impact based on the way NFL defenses want to play. He would be a perfect fit for a Browns defense that struggled coving backs and tight ends.
He also brings more speed to a defense that will hope to get faster with some injured players returning along with moves like this. This pick would make a lot of Browns fans very happy.
