3. Troy Hill

Troy Hill has been an excellent number two or three corner for the Rams the last two seasons. He is a smaller corner at 5-foot-11 and 183 pounds, which could work against him a bit. The production has been there, and he has played both outside and in the slot, so versatility is a huge plus. He will likely be joining a new squad with the Rams sorting out a nightmare of a salary cap situation.

Hill started all 16 games for the first time in 2020, playing mostly in the slot. Quarterbacks put up an 89.8 rating against Hill over 91 targets with four touchdowns. Hill, however, did snag three interceptions, taking two back for touchdowns, along with ten passes defended. His tackling has been up and down in his career, as he missed 10.5 percent of his tackles in 2018 and 2020 but only 4.4 percent in 2019. Hill would make a solid, versatile veteran corner for almost any contender.

The only knock when it comes to the Browns’ interest in the free-agent cornerback is height. Most believe the Browns are looking to add a bigger corner opposite Ward, that’s not Hilton. So why put him on this list? Sometimes you can’t have what you want. Hill would make a nice cheap piece that would help a team on the verge of being a Superbowl contender. If you watched the Superbowl and the way the Browns played down the stretch, then you know this team certainly has a chance.

Contract Prediction: Two years, $11.5 million, $6-8 million guaranteed
