At first glance, the Cleveland Browns seem set at wide receiver heading into 2021. Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham, Jr. are both still under contract but together, they’re set to make $30.5 million. Add to that OBJ’s torn ACL and struggles connecting with Baker Mayfield as well as Jarvis Landry’s struggles to create separation and the Browns probably need to do something.

For that reason, the front office looks to add a player who can stretch the field here in Dyami Brown from North Carolina. Not only did he average more than 20-yards per catch in each of the past two seasons but Brown also stands in at 6-foot-1 and 195-pounds, giving their offense some much-needed height.

Currently, the Browns’ top targets (OBJ and Landry) are both under six-foot tall. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s good to have players who are able to use their size to get over the top of defensive backs, and Brown offers that. He’s also a willing blocker and in this run-first offense, that could be the most appealing thing about adding him.

Drafting Brown at this spot also doesn’t mean the Browns have to move on from anyone on their roster — and they could still bring back Rashard Higgins as well. It just gives them a player who will challenge those already in Cleveland for snaps and competition is never bad for anyone.
