Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Georgia. player. 814. LB. MontyRice. 4

Measuring in at 6-foot-0 and 238-pounds, Monty Rice will be labeled as an undersized linebacker. However, he’s also a highly productive player who racked up 219 tackles in his career for Georgia. Rice isn’t going to wow anyone with his film but he’s a steady player who knows where he’s supposed to be and can shed blockers.

As a rookie, he’s likely to be a special teams ace but can develop into more down the road. Fans will surely expect to see a linebacker taken much earlier than this but Andrew Berry has shown that he’s not as high on the position as some might like.

In the end, he’s probably right. If they improve the front line and back end of the defense, the guys in the middle won’t be leaned on as heavily.

Texas. CadenSterns. 4. player. 851. Scouting Report. S. Pick Analysis

The Browns are pretty strong at safety, assuming they can get Karl Joseph to return. He really started to come on strong in 2020 and could be a starter again this coming season. Hopefully, he will have Grant Delpit alongside him as a free safety after the second-round pick missed his rookie campaign with a torn ACL.

In the defense run by Joe Woods, there needs to be a third safety ready to play closer to the line and that’s where Ronnie Harrison would come in. Harrison was often their best safety but the problem is, he had trouble with durability. The safety position as a whole shared that issue, which is why they use their second pick in the fourth on Caden Sterns from Texas.

Sterns put together a solid career with 173 tackles and five picks and could give them some solid insurance behind their three starters.
