4. Curtis Samuel

The former second-round pick from Ohio State, Curtis Samuel, seems to have finally figured out his role in the NFL in 2020 and comes off his rookie contract at a perfect time. Samuel came into the league as a hybrid type player who was better as a running back in college than a wide receiver.

It was a slow start in the league for Samuel who had 115 yards receiving and 64 yards rushing as a rookie for the Carolina Panthers. Each year Samuel has seen a tremendous amount of progress and ended the 2020 season with over 1,000 total yards in 15 games of action.

Samuel had 851 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and an additional 200 rushing yards with two additional touchdowns. The most important stat that Browns fans will love, Samuel had 77 catches on 97 targets which is nearly an 80 percent completion rate. For perspective, Landry had a 71 percent completion rate and Beckham was at 53 percent.

Not only would Samuel be a threat out of the backfield on sweeps and reverses, but he also has the speed and quickness to win in man-to-man coverage and stretch a defense deep from the slot position. Samuel will be a hot commodity in 2021, which is why I see him as a perfect fit, but an unlikely landing spot for the Cleveland Browns. The Panthers and Houston Texans who want to keep DeShaun Watson happy both appear to have an interest and will likely have deeper pockets.
