1. Troy Hill, DB

The Browns secondary struggled with many injuries in 2020. There is also a lot of uncertainty surrounding some of the key players from last season. Since this is the case, it would be a smart move to get Troy Hill in the building.

Before week 1 last season, rookie Grant Delpit tore his Achilles which kept him out for the season. Greedy Williams also missed the entire season with a nagging shoulder injury. With the severity of both of those injuries, it is no guarantee that Delpit or Williams will be able to play at a high level when they return. So, the Browns should plan accordingly.

Even if Williams and Delpit can return to the field, the hole still exists. Williams operates best on the outside at cornerback and Delpit did his best work in college as a free safety. With Denzel Ward playing on the outside opposite of Williams and Ronnie Harrison playing strong safety, the Browns still don’t have anyone who can effectively cover the opponent’s slot wide receiver.

Troy Hill had an incredible and underrated season in 2020 for the Rams. Hill had three interceptions and took two of them back for touchdowns. He always seemed to be in the right spot at the right time.

Hill would drastically improve the Browns defense and could turn the secondary from a weakness to a strength. If the Browns want to find a financially frugal way to fix the slot-covering problem, they should offer Troy Hill a contract to become a Cleveland Brown.

Side-Note: Troy Hill grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. If he decides to join the Browns, he would also be returning to his hometown team.
