1. Corey Davis, Wide Receiver

Another position that doesn’t seem to be in terrible shape for the Browns is wide receiver. Currently, Cleveland has Odell Beckham, Jr., Jarvis Landry, and Donovan Peoples-Jones under contract. They could still retain Rashard Higgins and KhaDarel Hodge as well, but it’s not likely they bring them both back.

Sure, that unit was strong in 2020 (even with OBJ out with a torn ACL) but they were a problem in the Divisional Round when they couldn’t beat the Chiefs man coverage. What the Browns need to do is add a player who can get deep and command double-teams.

Enter Corey Davis, the former No. 5 overall pick in 2017 out of Western Michigan. Davis struggled early on in his career and the Titans even elected to skip on his fifth-year option. Davis responded by putting up the best season of his young career, finishing with 984 yards on 65 receptions. Davis also averaged 15.1 yards per reception and had a sensational catching percentage of 70.7 percent.

Cleveland clearly needs to add a player who has Davis’ skillset and doing so in the draft — while an option — would hurt their chances of fixing their porous defense.

The question after adding Davis then becomes what they do with their current roster. They can’t afford to have three top-tier wideouts, which is what they would have with Davis, OBJ, and Landry.

However, that’s a bridge they would need to cross only after making such an addition.
