1. Marvin Jones, Wide Receiver

Predicted to sign with Browns for $27 million over three years

Coming in as the 48th highest free agent in these rankings, Marvin Jones is the first player discussed when it comes to the Cleveland Browns. Jones, who has played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions is a veteran that is being predicted to land with the Browns on a three-year, $27 million deal.

There are surely positives to such a signing. For one, Jones — who is one of the more underrated receivers in the NFL — has incredibly sure hands. Also, he’s a model of consistency, as pointed out in the article.

"“Jones has been incredibly consistent, grading between 71.0 and 76.0 in each of his last six seasons. Jones is still a capable Z wide receiver on the outside opposite a true X, but he has also seen his snaps from the slot increase steadily each season, which could perhaps make him more attractive to potential suitors if there are concerns about his game not aging well.” — PFF.com"

The problem is, Jones is 31-years old and it seems as though the Browns want to get younger and faster at wideout. Jones does have some speed but his yards per reception had dropped the past couple of seasons. He could be good for the next year or two, but by the third year of that deal, Cleveland might be looking to make a move.

Cleveland could end up being much more active than this in free agency but they also seem to have a staff that avoids the splashy moves, so maybe their signings will be players outside of the top 151 as they hope to continue to build through the draft instead.
