Deshaun Watson – Houston Texans

Trade Possibility: Very High

You can make an argument for having Deshaun Watson lower on this list than Aaron Rodgers and there’s really no issue there. Both of them are, without a doubt, two of the top three quarterbacks in the NFL. Watson had a stretch of games his rookie season where he looked like the best player in the league and like a legitimate MVP candidate up until he suffered a torn ACL.

After the Houston Texans fired Bill O’Brien, Watson went on an absolute tear. He threw 27 touchdowns and just four interceptions while tossing 3,731 yards on 71.63 percent accuracy under Romeo Crennel. He added another 386 yards on the ground.

Watson led the NFL in passing yards with 4,823 yards, all while having no offensive line and no true number one wide receiver as he had in DeAndre Hopkins. With a competent coach and literally any weapons at all around him, Deshaun Watson is an MVP caliber quarterback and has the skills to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Unfortunately for Watson, the lone man ahead of him on this list is under contract for the next 10 seasons. If he either stays with the Texans or gets traded within the AFC, he’ll be matching up with Mahomes year in and year out and might not get a shot at a Lombardi.
