Dak Prescott – Free Agent, Possible former Dallas Cowboy

Trade Possibility: If tagged, yes

As of right now, right this moment, former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, is set to hit free agency. Prescott’s 2020 season was cut short in Week 5 due to a gruesome ankle injury where it appeared to snap completely in half.

For a player who doesn’t heavily rely on his rushing ability, it may not be the end of the world, but it’s still a serious injury that will take both a physical and mental toll. When completely healthy, Prescott is one of the best pure passers in the game and I think arguably a top-five quarterback in the league.

Following his sensational rookie season in 2016, Prescott’s career seems to be on the uptick. Going into the 2020 season, the former Offensive Rookie of the Year led a Cowboys team that had “contender” written all over it. With the amount of talent the team had as well as a new head coach, it looked like this might actually be the Cowboys’ year.

If Prescott is at 75 percent off what he was in 2019, then this team, assuming he re-signs with the Cowboys, could be the NFC favorite next season. Regardless of where he ends up, that team has an elite quarterback and a legitimate shot, at the very least, to make the playoffs.
