3. Caleb Farley, Cornerback, Virginia Tech

One name who is getting a ton of hype with a very small resume is cornerback, Caleb Farley out of Virginia Tech. While there were a ton of bright spots in 2019 about his game, that is the only highlight to go off since he was originally recruited as a wide receiver.

While the 2019 season was a great one for Farley who had four interceptions, 12 pass deflections, and earned All-ACC first-team honors but has since to be on the field after sitting out the entire 2020 season because of COVID-19.

Could Farley just be a one-year wonder? He certainly may not, but is it worth the risk in the first round? Farley has three major red flags; a non-contact ACL injury in 2017, one year of full production, and he has shown he struggles to make tackles.

The biggest shock to me is many have him rated as a top-15 prospect. My biggest fear is he will slide because of these questions and Berry will be extremely tempted to take him at No. 26 or even try to jump up a few spots and snag him if he does fall down the board.

Although the Browns certainly need some help in the secondary with so many question marks with the health of Greedy Williams and so much poor play in 2020, don’t take the bait, Mr. Berry. If Farley falls to 26, continue to let him fall. At this point in the restructuring of the organization, the risk/reward is too much for the Browns to risk. Cleveland needs guaranteed production from their first-round pick, not a chance of an all-pro or bust.
