Tua Tagovailoa – Miami Dolphins

Oh wow, finally a player that Cowherd picked Mayfield over? Colin is right, while Tua Tagovailoa was a tremendous collegiate quarterback, I’m still not sold that his game translates to the NFL. Truthfully, I had the same fear with Murray from the Cardinals, but he has seemed to make the adjustment better.

While Tagovailoa was 6-3 in his nine starts, it was apparent quickly that he wasn’t quite ready for the game speed. Tagovailoa was pulled midway and relied heavily on his defense for those wins. Tua may end up being a strong NFL quarterback, but I don’t think many would risk taking him over Mayfield for the next five years at this point.

Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals

This one is quite interesting to me. Cowherd picks Joe Burrow over Mayfield, which I can’t disagree with. In limited action on a bad team, Burrow appears to be the real deal. It’s disappointing that the Cleveland Browns will have to face him twice a year.

My question is, will the Bengals waist him like Carson Palmer. Burrow was beaten up last year as the offensive line was awful. It eventually cost him his season as he tore his ACL. While I don’t think there is any fear that he won’t recover, what’s to say the Bengals put any talent around him? I still go Burrow, but if you are considering the team they are on, this race may end up being tighter than some think.
