Minnesota Vikings – Anthony Harris, Safety

Oh, what’s this? Another Anthony Harris to the Browns wish? Yes, yes it is. I’m sure you’re all tired of hearing about Anthony Harris to the Browns and you’re just waiting for free agency to hit so we can move on. I’ll keep it simple for everybody.

It seems like Harris going to the Browns whether it be via trade or through free agency has been a rumor for like five years at this point, but it’s only been two. Harris, one of the league leaders in interceptions in 2019, has played at an unbelievable level as of late and still hasn’t slowed down.

After his amazing 2019 campaign, everyone expected him to fall off a cliff because his production just didn’t seem sustainable. Enter 2020, he didn’t have any interceptions this season, but he finished the year with 104 total tackles, almost as many as his previous two seasons combined, and seven pass breakups.

Harris has experience playing both safety positions so he would have no problem lining up alongside 2020 second-round pick Grant Delpit, wherever that may be. He had a minor setback in 2020 but that could be attributed to coaching changes and having to adjust to a new defensive scheme and settle in with a new defensive positional coach. Something to keep an eye on, one of his former defensive backs coaches with the Minnesota Vikings is now the Browns defensive coordinator.

He’s a high-quality player that’s still very productive so it just makes sense for the Browns to go out and sign him to sure up the back end.
