Odell Beckham, Jr.

The Cleveland Browns went all-in for the 2019 season, and that included trading for Odell Beckham. While the trade hasn’t necessarily paid off yet, Beckham is still under contract for the next three seasons.

The big question with Beckham is his health. He hasn’t had a full season of 100 percent since his breakout season in 2016. If healthy, Beckham is worth every cent of his contract, but if he continues to miss time it will be tough to justify $15 million per year for the next three seasons.

Like Landry, I think Berry gives Beckham another chance in 2021. The Browns still have enough cap space to add the pieces they need in 2021 and they can still afford both luxuries. However, if things go south again, Beckham could also be out of Cleveland.

OBJ will need to show that he is fully healthy and can put together a full season to earn his spot moving forward. If he faces another injury in 2021, there is a chance the Browns blow up the entire wide receiving core and start from scratch.

Good news for the Browns, Beckham will have an attractive contract to trade after 2021 if the Browns choose to go that route. Let’s hope for a full recovery from OBJ, and that he and Mayfield can get on the same page together.

During his time in Cleveland Beckham has yet to have a catch percentage greater than 56 percent. Part of that is Mayfield forcing him the ball, and the other part is a few uncharacteristic drops from Beckham.
