59th overall – Quincy Roche, Miami (FL)

I’m very high on Qunicy Roche but the rest of the world seems to think that he’ll fall out of the first round, if it happens and the Browns have an opportunity to nab him, that would be a dream scenario. Roche was a standout at Temple, recording 26 sacks over his three years there. For his senior season he transferred to the University of Miami (FL) and was thrust into the spotlight with the Hurricanes’ star pass rusher Gregory Rousseau opting out of the season.

Roche, the 2019 AAC Defensive Player of the Year, didn’t have a great statistical year in the ACC but was a commanding on-field presence. Don’t let the numbers scare you, he’s absolutely a pro-ready edge rusher and has been a star since entering college.

His build resembles more of a 3-4 outside linebacker but he should be able to fit the 4-3 scheme that Joe Woods and the Browns like to run. Roche is one of the more underrated players in this year’s class and would be an absolute steal if he falls to 59.

A very technical edge rusher, Roche has quick and powerful hands that partnered with his power, helps him get past linemen with ease. Another plus for Roche is he’s not just a pure pass rusher. He’s a good run defender and is a very intelligent player. He may not be an elite pass rusher right out of the draft but give him a couple of years with a good staff and he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
