3. Depth at safety/cornerback

The entire secondary is extremely thin these 10 seconds. Terrance Mitchell (CB), Kevin Johnson (CB), Karl Joseph (S), and Andrew Sendejo (S) are all out of contract and all played a crucial role for the team last year. With all four expected to find new homes, the Browns will need answers at every position in the secondary.

Berry has his sights on a cornerback in the first round of the draft. There are a lot of great prospects this year and I think the number 26 pick will be spent on a guy like Jaycee Horn from South Carolina. A physical presence who isn’t afraid to stick his nose down to the ground and make a tackle.

With that being said, Berry will likely turn to free agency to bring in a veteran safety that could see a lot of playing time in 2021. Grant Delpit who was the Browns second-round pick last season and Ronnie Harrison will be the two likely starters, but defensive coordinator Joe Woods would love to play three safeties when he can.

While many Browns fans will want to sign a guy like Anthony Harris or LaMarcus Joyner, look for Berry to not break the bank on this signing. A guy like Keanu Neal, Kenny Vaccaro, or Tre Boston could be perfect fits and would cost substantially less.

Update: Cleveland made a splash by signing John Johnson III in free agency which was a huge move for them. They can still use some help at cornerback but this move for Johnson was one of the best of the first day of the tampering period.
