Jaycee Horn is the big-name cornerback from the University of South Carolina and he could be a target for the Browns if he’s available at No. 26. However, in this mock, that wasn’t the case but that doesn’t mean they can’t land a defensive back from Carolina.

Here, they take Isreal Mukuamu, adding a second cornerback to the ranks in this mock. Listed at 6-foot-3 and 205-pounds, Mukuamu was used in a variety of roles by the Gamecocks. He was best as an outside corner but can also play safety and in the slot.

There could be a move to safety in the future for him and if that were to happen, he could solve a lot of the problems in Cleveland when it comes to covering tight ends.

Finally, a linebacker. For those who think the Browns should take one earlier than this, that would make perfect sense. The problem is, Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski have shown they’re not going to go crazy when it comes to the position. With them favoring a 4-2-5 defense, the focus will likely be on fixing the secondary and the defensive line which is what led to the earlier selections.

This isn’t to say they can’t find a talented linebacker in the middle rounds, because that’s what they get in Monty Rice. While he doesn’t have ideal size, the Georgia linebacker proved to be good in coverage and is a sue tackler. He might start out on special teams but could develop into a contributor.
