Round 2: Kadarius Toney, Florida

I’m three for three on undersized target for the Browns today, but these are the guys who really have the burners to get deep, which is what the Browns desperately need. While I’m not sold the Browns will want to take a receiver in Round 2, if they do, Kadarius Toney from Florida could be the perfect fit.

While it appears that Toney may be the biggest risk on this list because of being taken in Round 2, he also has tremendous upside. His elusiveness after the catch, speed, and returner skills are all major pros.

He has only had one year with high production in Florida, so one could say was it a fluke.  =And another could say he is continuing to improve each year.  =In 2020 Toney has 70 receptions for 984 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had 19 carries for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Not only could Toney be an effective deep threat for the Browns, but he could also be a returner and a great guy for gadget plays like the end around, jet sweep, and reverse. The biggest thing that makes me a believer in Toney’s future, he doesn’t drop the football. He has very sure hands and isn’t just a track guy trying to play football.

Next. Should Aldon Smith be a target?. dark

Because the Browns need a few pieces on the defensive side of the ball still, I’m not sold they would be willing to go receiver in Round 2, especially because of the depth of the class.  However, all three of these guys could be great fits for the Browns roster in 2021.
