There are still some solid linebackers available in free agency for the Cleveland Browns

The time is coming where free agency deals for the Cleveland Browns will be less and less likely. At this time a majority of the “big name” guys are off the board, but there are still plenty of free agents that can contribute at a high level remaining on the board.

With the Browns roster in great shape heading into the 2021 NFL draft, there isn’t necessarily a ton that needs to be done. In fact, general manager Andrew Berry has likely started to shift some of his attention to contract extensions that will need to be done soon.

What will Berry do in the 2021 draft? That is the million-dollar question that has so many possible answers. Berry could continue to stack up talent on defense (which I believe he will do), or he could start to plan for the future on offense and draft a wide receiver or even an interior offensive lineman.

One thing I don’t think Berry wants to do is draft a linebacker in the first round of the draft. A position that has already been improved with the addition of Anthony Walker, but could certainly still use some help.

Even with a scheme of having two linebackers on the field as much as possible, the Browns just lack depth at the position. Malcolm Smith and Jacob Phillips will likely be strong contributors, but Mack Wilson and Sione Takitaki have continued to lack in development.

Maybe Takitaki or Wilson will completely prove me wrong in training camp, but with there still being some starting quality guys on the board, Berry should consider trying to sign one more guy to help solidify the position group.

Here are three remaining free agents that could instantly perform on the field and come at a slight discount.
