As much as the Browns need a cornerback, they might have just as strong of a need for a defensive end in the upcoming draft. For the past two seasons, Cleveland has had Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon as their starters and while both have been very successful in their respective careers, they never really got to be fully unleashed as a duo with the Browns.

In 2019, there were injuries for Vernon as well as a lengthy suspension for Garrett. Then in 2020, it seemed as though Vernon really took off while Garrett was out with COVID — and while Garrett was playing out of his mind early on, Vernon was trying to get back to speed after suffering another injury.

Then as the year wore on, the two were both playing to their potential and Vernon suffered a torn Achilles in Week 17. With his age and the severity of the injury, Cleveland seems ready to move on (although he’s still a free agent). They did sign Takk McKinley but he’s a bit of a wild card after a season in 2020 where he bounced all over the NFL.

With all that said, the Browns could look to add Gregory Rousseau at No. 26. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 260-pounds, Rousseau is an athletic EDGE player but has yet to fully refine his skills. He also sat out the entire 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.

This could play into the hands of the Browns as it could lead to a guy who once looked to be a top-10 talent in this class remaining on the clock at No. 26. If he is, Rousseau could be a very good addition to this team.
