Iowa. 4.110. 878. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. IhmirSmith-Marsette. player

Round 4, Pick 116: Ihmir Smith-Marsette, WR, Iowa

One receiver is nice, but two would be better. Cleveland could be replacing four pass-catchers next offseason, and while they can add to the position group in 2022, it would be wise to begin preparing for that potential exodus now. Smith-Marsette provides excellent explosiveness and solid long speed. He didn’t produce to his level of talent at Iowa because of scheme and quarterback play, which sound very similar to why Donovan Peoples-Jones fell to the sixth round last year.

Smith-Marsette can be brought along slowly as a receiver while providing immediate impact as a kick returner.

DB. Syracuse. 4.132. 827. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TrillWilliams. player

Round 4, Pick 132: Trill Williams, CB, Syracuse

A team can never have too many quality defensive backs. Williams didn’t test great, but he plays like a much better athlete and brings excellent versatility. He should be given the chance to play outside corner first, and if that doesn’t work out, he can move inside and also provide help at safety.

5.169. 851. Ta'QuonGraham. DL. Texas. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Round 5, Pick 169: Ta’Quon Graham, DT, Texas

Graham stands out on tape when watching Joseph Ossai. He could stand to add more weight to his 6-foot-2 292-pound frame, but he’s an elite all-around athlete who has the potential to develop into a disruptive interior rusher. He wouldn’t need to be counted upon to contribute right away, but could play a big role in 2022.

With this class, the Browns would dramatically improve their team in 2021 while preparing for the future. This roster is now at the point where the front office must begin to draft a year or two in advance, while keeping the goal of a Super Bowl at the forefront.
