Cleveland Browns: 5 biggest impact prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft
By Sam Penix
1. Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
Take Elijah Moore, steal two inches, add seven pounds, and you have Rondale Moore’s frame. He’s quite short, but he isn’t small. That size disadvantage isn’t a big deal when he’s practically impossible to cover.
Moore is unbelievably quick. It’s comical to watch defenders attempt to tackle him. More fly past him or wind up on the ground with broken ankles than touch him. His short-area quickness and agility is insane, as is his acceleration. He’s a truly elite all-around athlete, and was simply dominant as a true freshman in 2018.
He’s dealt with some injuries since then, and essentially opted out after three games in 2020, but that electric player remains. He’s one of the youngest players in the class, and has light years of room to improve.
His route running is already crazy quick and effective, and while he didn’t have the largest route tree at Purdue, he did play more snaps outside than Elijah Moore and looked very good when he got those opportunities. He tracks the ball very well downfield and has good ball skills and reliable hands.
To some, it may be a surprise to see a player who stands just 5-7 selected as high as Moore will go. But it is not hyperbole to say that Moore is perhaps the closest thing that football has seen to Tyreek Hill. That’s a lofty comparison, but one that is well-earned.
If the Browns were to add Moore to their offense, they could immediately rival Kansas City for most dangerous unit in the NFL. That’s why Rondale Moore would make the biggest impact for Cleveland.
