4. Christian Barmore – Defensive Tackle, Alabama

After the departure of Sheldon Richardson, defensive tackle became a need on the team that many didn’t expect previously. The Browns have three capable players on the roster in Andrew Billings, Jordan Elliott, and Malik Jackson, but none really have elite traits.

One guy that could slide just because of his position to pick no. 59 is Christian Barmore, the defensive tackle from Alabama. He and Levi Onwuzurike are the top two interior defensive linemen in the draft, and it just is going to depend on how the apples fall.

Some have Barmore number one on their board, others will have Onwuzurike because of his athleticism. However, the Browns should have far more interest in Barmore, and even consider moving up a few picks because the need on the roster is there.

Barmore has the size, strength, and power to be a great NFL defensive tackle, and was slowed to begin the season in 2020 with a preseason knee injury. After he fully healed you could see him turn on the jets to finish the season.

Barmore is more of a bull rusher and lacks the agility and finesse that a guy like Onwuzurike possesses, but he will be extremely consistent in the run game and can move side to side very well for his size.

Barmore could go early in the second or could fall all the way to No. 59. Neither scenario would shock me because of his position. This would be a dream scenario for the Cleveland Browns in round two.
