2. Jabril Cox – Linebacker, LSU

Another position of need continues to be at linebacker. The room is crowded now, but I expect a mid-round pick at the position to at least create a competitive environment at training camp. The Browns may head into camp with six or seven capable guys, with only five coming out.

Originally Jabril Cox of LSU picked up some steam and some had him going in round two. I think that’s too much of a stretch because he still needs to develop, but if he remains on the board in round three, this would be a great pick for the Browns.

Cox who was lightly recruited because of a high school injury broke almost every record possible at North Dakota State and absolutely shined. He then transferred to LSU where he only played one season at the highest level.

While he is an extremely hard worker and looked great in pass coverage, he has the tendency to play tall and at times looks slow on the field because he is thinking and not reacting.

Cox has all the tools necessary, and with a little bit of coaching, he could turn into a fantastic starter in the NFL. He could come to Cleveland and right away steal the job as the Will linebacker.

Berry shouldn’t reach on Cox because he is a bit of a project, but fans would have a big smile on their faces if he was on the board at No. 89 for the Cleveland Browns.
