Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

With the fifth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, many people thought that the Bengals would be selecting Penei Sewell, the offensive tackle out of Oregon. They surprised a few people, including myself, when they took Ja’Marr Chase. Chase is the best wide receiver in this draft class and is going to be an absolute nightmare for opposing defenses.

For those of us who enjoy watching great wide receiver and cornerback matchups, these Ja’Marr Chase versus Denzel Ward matchups are going to be must-see TV. There were only about four prospects in this draft class that I would bet the house on being multiple pro-bowl caliber players, and Chase is one of them.

This pick further adds fuel to the fire that the Browns are going to need to be able to get after Joe Burrow early and often to keep this explosive Bengals offense down.

Bengals fans may be upset that they haven’t drafted anyone to protect their recently injured star quarterback, but Ja’Marr Chase could really end up being the best wide receiver in the AFC North within the next two years.

Something special is being built in Cincinnati, and if they can figure out their offensive line woes, they can really skyrocket to contending for the conference title. That’s a big if, but do not sleep on the Bengals this upcoming season.
