Cleveland Browns schedule release: 2021 full-season predictions
By Greg Newland
Week 17 @ Pittsburgh – Jan. 3
The Browns will be going back to back in prime-time games this season as they will face the Steelers on Monday Night Football in week 17. This will be a very tough environment, but I expect the Browns to be playing for a lot and the Steelers to be playing for very little.
I know it sounds crazy but look for the Browns to sweep the Steelers in 2021. The stakes will be high for a playoff spot, and the Steelers will be getting worn out from a long season. Mayfield will once again shine, and the defense will make things impossible for the Steeler’s offense.
Prediction: Huge win, 34-24 Browns.
Week 18 vs. Cincinnati – Jan. 9
I will say it again, there really is no easy win in the NFL, and the Bengals will not be a team that just rolls over this season. They have made some impressive moves, and Burrow could be the next Carson Palmer. I say that jokingly because he is so good, and his team will refuse to add talent around him.
However, with the Browns having the ability to close out the season and win an AFC North title, look for the Browns to come up big. The Bengals will keep this competitive, but the desire will be just too much.
Prediction: 24-20 Browns.
In the first 17 game season, I have the Browns ending at 12-5, with a 5-1 record in the division. While these stats are awesome, it likely will earn them the No. 3 spot in the playoffs behind the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills.
5-1 may sound crazy in the AFC North, but I think you are going to see a big step back from the Steelers and find out the Bengals aren’t quite ready to compete until they find a way to protect Burrow.
