Rushing Touchdowns

"Nick Chubb: 28 Saquon Barkley: 17 Sony Michel & Ronald Jones: 14 Kerryon Johnson & Royce Freeman: 8 Chase Edmonds, Nyheim Hines, & Kalen Ballage: 7 Boston Scott & Ito Smith: 6"

Nick Chubb continues to dominate this list, and because of Saquon’s 14 game injury last year, Nick Chubb has clearly separated himself in this category. I decided to not make this stat rushing touchdowns per game and left it as rushing touchdowns for two reasons: obviously, the name of the game is to score points, and this statistic pretty much also takes availability into account.

A player isn’t worth much to a team if he isn’t on the field, so this is one category where you obviously get knocked for missing time. For a straight comparison, if anyone is wondering, Saquon has 17 rushing touchdowns in 31 games, while 28 touchdowns in 44 games.

This comes out to .64 rushing touchdowns per game for Chubb, and .55 rushing touchdowns per game for Saquon Barkley, so Chubb would still have the advantage here.

It’s also interesting to note that former first-round pick Rashaad Penny doesn’t even crack the top 10 list in the statistic. Boston Scott, a former 6th round pick, is above Penny on this list, tied for that 9th spot.

However, Scott actually never played a regular-season game for the team that drafted him, the Saints. Scott has spent his entire career playing for the Philadelphia Eagles and has been a valuable player to that offense over the past two seasons.
