Cleveland Browns: 3 Day three picks that could help in 2021
By Randy Gurzi
1. Demetric Felton, WR/RB
Cleveland’s final pick came in the sixth round at No. 211 overall, which is where they landed Demetric Felton from UCLA.
A running back and wide receiver during his time with the Bruins, Felton could find his way onto the field in a multitude of ways. He’s not only solid in the slot and as a running back but he was used as a return man as well.
That versatility was one of the things that attracted the Browns to him and their official team website got into everything he brought to the table during his collegiate days.
"“Felton was used as a wide receiver and running back during his four seasons with the Bruins. This past season, he started five of six games and amassed 668 rushing yards and five touchdowns to go along with 22 catches for 159 yards and three more scores. For his career, Felton rushed for 1,101 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 99 passes for 958 yards and eight touchdowns. He hauled in a career-best 55 passes for 594 yards as a junior in 2019.” — Draft breakdown on ClevelandBrowns.com"
As it stands now, the Browns have two incredible running backs in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt so any work Felton gets as a running back would be limited. Still, he could help them save a spot on the roster by serving as a third running back, slot receiver, and special teams weapon.
For that reason, Felton should be a contributor early on in his career.
