Comparing Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett to 2017 EDGE draft class
By Mitch Zoloty
Pro Bowl Appearances
"TJ Watt: 3 Myles Garrett: 2 Everyone else: 0"
First Team All-Pro Appearances
"TJ Watt: 2 Myles Garrett: 1 Everyone else: 0"
Finally, this comparison ends with the accolades. T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett are the only EDGE defenders in this draft class to pick up accolades so far in their career, but that shouldn’t discredit the rest of the EDGE defenders in this draft class. It’s extremely hard to make a Pro Bowl or an All-Pro team in the NFL, which is why they usually are huge areas of evaluation when looking at if guys should get into the Hall of Fame or not.
Considering both of these guys have a few more years left in the prime of their career, Myles only turning 26 this season and TJ Watt turning 27, each should both pick of a few more Pro Bowl and All-Pro appearances before they hang up the cleats.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Myles and Watt both notch another five to six Pro Bowls each before they retire, as we know the award also has some publicity to do with who is selected. If they both keep playing at the pace they have been, and neither has shown any signs of slowing down, that is a doable goal for both of them.
