1. Joe Thomas, Defensive Tackle

Entering 2021, the Cleveland Browns have a lot of defensive tackles. They added former Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos interior defensive lineman Malik Jackson and former Charger Damion Square in free agency. They then picked Tommy Togiai from Ohio State in the 2021 NFL Draft and signed FSU star Marvin Wilson as an undrafted free agent.

They will also get nose tackle Andrew Billings back after he opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns. But that doesn’t mean they can’t add more competition — which could include Joe Thomas.

A future Hall of Famer, Thomas played 10,363 consecutive snaps at left tackle before a triceps injury ended his career in 2017. With all those snaps against defensive linemen, Thomas should be able to come in and know how to combat players trying to block him — making this transition smoother than Tebow making the shift from baseball to tight end.

Sadly, Thomas never got to taste much success with Cleveland but that could change if he joins this team now ‚— and fans would love to see No. 73 back in action for the orange and brown. But with Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin playing tackle, Thomas moving to the other side of the line of scrimmage would just feel right.

Cleveland is a winning franchise now and Thomas as their top interior pass rusher would only make them more dangerous.
