4. Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE

This is one player that the Browns will have an up-close look at before having to make a decision on him in 2022 as they did sign him this offseason to a one-year deal. Jadeveon Clowney is a player they targeted over the past two offseasons, finally landing him in 2021.

With Andrew Berry pursuing him for two years now, it would be a surprise to see them use him as a one-and-done player, especially if he plays well. And if anyone has watched Clowney throughout his career — rather than just scouting the stat sheet — they would know that he’s very likely to play well with Cleveland especially with the attention Myles Garrett will take on the other side of the line.

The real question is going to be whether or not he can stay healthy. In his seven seasons in the NFL, Clowney has missed 29 games and has only played a full season one time. That was back in 2017 when he was playing alongside J.J. Watt and he racked up carrer-highs in tackles (59), tackles for a loss (21), and sacks (9.5).

A former No. 1 overall pick from South Carolina, Clowney is a disruptive force who is one of the best in the NFL at setting the edge in the run game and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see him return.
