Jordan Elliott

Andrew Berry took Jordan Elliott in the third round of the 2020 draft, knowing that Larry Ogunjobi and Sheldon Richardson could be gone this year. It allowed the former Missouri star a chance to learn the system and get valuable game reps with minimal pressure.

The hope was if they lost one or both, Elliott would be ready to step in to fill the void in 2020.

Elliott ended up on the field more than expected. With Billings opting out, Elliott ended 2020 with 307 snaps and showed some flashes with three quarterback pressures. He played in all 16 games as a rookie, even starting one.

After the hot start, Elliott dropped off and had a much lower score by the end of 2020. While the drop-off may cause some concern, Elliott showed the potential to get the job done. Right now, he seems like a forgotten man in the defensive tackle room, but that can change in a hurry.

Elliott was considered a strong pick in the third round based on his standout play at Missouri. With a year in the defensive system under his belt, he has an advantage on nearly every other defensive tackle. Combine that with the talent that made him a third-round pick, and there is a chance Elliott could make a name for himself in August.
