No. 2 – Steven Sims Jr., Wide Receiver

Back to the position, no one wants to talk about, wide receiver. The Browns come into the 2021 season with four solidified top guys in Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, and Donovan Peoples-Jones. In an offense that is primarily in a two wide receiver set, why look at another one?

Remember, Beckham has had injuries the last four years, Landry and Higgins struggle in tight man-to-man coverage, and Peoples-Jones still hasn’t proven himself as dependable.

With the Washington Football team adding Adam Humphries and Dax Milne this offseason, there is a good chance Steven Sims Jr. could be released. An undersized guy who has a ton of speed and shiftiness on underneath routes. A guy who can run an out on third and four and get open for a first down.

These guys aren’t getting released because they are perfect. Sims had issues with drops and an injury last year.  However, he could be a great third or fourth receiver for the Browns simply because of his speed. I know the Browns drafted Anthony Schwartz, but let’s be honest, how has Olympic-type speed translated in the NFL previously?

Bringing in another receiver would require a few difficult decisions by Berry, but it very well could be exactly what the Cleveland Browns need to get to the next step.
