4. Adrian Clayborn

When the Browns signed Clayborn for $6 million over two seasons, it looked like a steal of a deal. Clayborn had been one of the most consistently underrated edge defenders in the league over the past few seasons, creating plenty of disruption as a rotational player. He seemed like exactly what the Browns needed; a quality third EDGE to spell Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon.

Unfortunately, he had one of the worst seasons of his career. A hip injury suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 no doubt had an impact on his performance, though he did have a nice two-week stretch against the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars later in the campaign. Because of the injuries to Garrett and Vernon, Clayborn played far more than intended, which also affected his efficiency.

Clayborn is now 33 years old, and appears to be trending downward if last year is any indication. He is limited (at least, he should be) to playing only on the right side due to a nerve condition, so that makes him significantly less versatile than other options on the market. Perhaps camp injuries will lead to some interest in Clayborn, but there are solid veterans who can play both sides as well.
