Cleveland Browns expectation No. 2:  No big-time stars

I do think you will see Mayfield and the starting offensive line for at least a couple of series, but I don’t think you will see any of the biggest stars. That list includes Myles Garrett, Nick Chubb, and Odell Beckham Jr.

Garrett is nursing a bit of a soft tissue injury, and Beckham is coming off major surgery. There’s no indication that either of them can’t play or are at a higher risk of injury because of their conditions, but there is no reason to put them on the field.

Both are veterans with a ton of experience and will be just fine seeing the first game action in week one vs. the Kansas City Chiefs. What’s more important for these two is they are fresh.

I also wouldn’t expect to see Nick Chubb or Grant Delpit. Chubb is just too valuable to get him injured. He has proven to be a top-three back in the league and there is no need to trot him out there for injury. There’s a small chance he gets one or two carries just to get used to being hit again, but nothing more than that.

The guy that needs the reps is Delpit, but I don’t think his body will be quite ready. He once again is nursing an injury, and currently, it’s more important that he doesn’t see the field until he is 100 percent healthy.
