Browns Roster: Safety (5)

John Johnson III, Grant Delpit, Ronnie Harrison, Richard LeCounte, Sheldrick Redwine

If we were to take a poll about who is the biggest free-agency signing of this period for the Cleveland Browns, the winner would probably be Jadeveon Clowney. That’s because he’s a well-known player who was taken first overall and has insane potential.

Sure, Clowney was a solid signing the correct answer to who the biggest addition was should be John Johnson III. The former Los Angeles Rams safety has become one of the best in the game and the contract he signed was actually very team-friendly as well.

There’s hope that Grant Delpit will also be a starter as he works his way back from a torn Achilles that took away his rookie campaign. Unfortunately, Delpit is dealing with a hamstring injury that once again reared its head on Wednesday.

Thankfully, they have some depth with Ronnie Harrison who played well in 2020, and Richard LeCounte who looked good in the first preseason game. Having said that, they also have their own injury concerns as Harrison missed a lot of time last season and LeCounte had an ATV accident that he was recovering from this offseason.

Lastly, there’s Sheldrick Redwine. He’s often criticized but he’s been able to make a few plays at times and could give them some valuable experience at the bottom of the depth chart.
