Cleveland Browns: Injuries are the name of the game

In recent memory, the Browns have been fortunate to escape many of their players from suffering serious injuries as a whole, but injuries are part of playing this brutally tough sport. Now, it seems that players are dropping like flies for the team.

Yesterday, the Browns recently brought back linebacker Montrel Meander to replace the newly injured linebacker Jacob Phillips, who had just suffered a torn bicep muscle a few days earlier. Unfortunately, Meander ended up getting a terrible injury himself during the game against the Giants as he ruptured his Achilles tendon.

The Browns kicker Cody Parkey, who had been battling it out with kicker Chase McLaughlin suffered a quadriceps injury during the game yesterday as well and was placed on IR by the team, giving McLaughlin the keys to the car and the kicking job for the Browns this season. “In Chase We Trust”, oh wait that was “In Phil (Dawson) we trust.”

Greedy Williams, who was drafted by the Browns back in 2018 has missed a ton of games over the years and that pattern continues now. Williams was trying to return after being gone last season because of an unusual shoulder and nerve injury. Now he is battling a groin injury and that could open the door for the rookie Greg Newsome II to take his place opposite their other cornerback Denzel Ward.
