Cleveland Browns breakout candidate No. 3: Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. has had a very underwhelming run with the Cleveland Browns since he joined the team in March 2019.

Most of the troubles have resulted from things that are out of Beckham’s control. He has not been able to shake the injury bug while on the Browns. This is something that has made him a step slower and greatly affected the level he could perform at, or it just kept him sidelined and unable to compete.

In his two seasons with the Browns, Beckham has played in only 23 of the possible 32 games. Despite playing a full season in his first season in Cleveland, Beckham was fighting back from a previous injury he suffered while still with the New York Giants which left him a step slower than he normally played.

It seems as if Beckham is 100% healthy and rehabilitated after the ACL tear he suffered against the Cincinnati Bengals.

This is likely a make-or-break season for Odell on the Browns. He still has not quite clicked with quarterback Baker Mayfield and if that does not change this season, he will likely be traded.

With these big stakes, it would be out of character for Beckham to not step up to the plate and perform. This likely will be the season that the quarterback and receiver duo finally get on the same page.

This could result in Beckham having the best statistical season of his career with the Browns. If he is able to stay on the field, Beckham may be able to reach the 1000 yard mark on the season.
