Browns Mock Draft Round 3 pick: Isaiah Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma

Cleveland has two No. 1 overall picks at defensive end with Jadeveon Clowney joining them in 2021. He will start opposite Myles Garrett and for good measure, they also have Takk McKinley in the rotation, who was a first-round pick as well.

The problem is, Clowney and McKinley are both working on one-year deals so the Browns probably need to be scouting defensive ends in the 2022 class unless they’re ready to fork out a bt more cash for those two.

Enter Isaiah Thomas from Oklahoma who is the third pick in this Browns Mock Draft. The 6-foot-5, 266-pound Thomas is built for life on an NFL defensive line but he is entering the season facing a suspension. That could hurt his stock some but Andrew Berry has shown he will take a chance on a player if he believes in them — and if the talent is there. For Thomas, the talent is there and as long as Berry gets a good feeling about him, this could be a solid move.

4. player. 812. . OT. Buckeyes . Nicholas Petit-Frere

Browns Mock Draft Round 4 pick (via Detroit): Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State

A pick added in a trade with the Detroit Lions comes due here and the Browns use that to land some more offensive line depth by taking Nicholas Petit-Frere.

As it stands now, the Browns boast one of the best starting units in the NFL along the offensive line and they have some solid depth. However, Chris Hubbard could be nearing the end of the line and James Hudson didn’t exactly wow as the swing tackle in the preseason.

Sure, he could develop but just in case, the Browns added Petit-Frere to at least give themselves some options.
