No. 4 – Grant Delpit, Safety

Everyone else on this list is an established player, but Grant Delpit is a huge wildcard on the defense. How can a guy that hasn’t played an NFL snap be so important?

The Joe Woods system was built for a guy like Delpit. Someone that can move around the field and just use his athleticism to create matchup nightmares for the opposing team.

Delpit was injured for most of his senior season at LSU and never saw the field as a rookie with an Achilles injury. With a full year off and the training staff saying he is at 100 percent; I think it’s safe to expect big things from Delpit.

Not only will he be great against tight ends in the passing game, but he also has the toughness to move up into the box and play the run. How nice will it be to have an extra athlete on the field when you face a guy like Lamar Jackson who can run as well as throw?

I think it is way too early to call Delpit an all-pro, but I do think he will have a breakout year if he can stay healthy. Delpit is the x-factor that this defense needs to put them from really good, to elite.
