Summer camp players who made the Cleveland Browns practice squad

The practice squad has some now-familiar names, with players who played well in the preseason, including:

Ja’Marcus Bradley, 24, wide receiver from Louisiana-Lafayette who played last season when the regulars were down due to Covid.

Sheldon Day, 27, defensive tackle, is a six-year veteran from Notre Dame who gave solid if unspectacular performances in the preseason. Previous gigs with the Colts, 49ers, and Jaguars.

Jordan Franks, 25, a tight end and former Bengal who played his college ball at Louisiana-Lafayette. He is the brother of quarterback Feleipe Franks of the Falcons.

Porter Gustin, 24 is a defensive end who played well last season spelling Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon. He will not stay on the practice squad long. The over-under is two weeks for this kid. He is good enough to start in the NFL if completely healthy.

John Kelly, 24, is a third-year running back from the Tennessee Vols who excited Browns fans with some good runs and pass receptions in preseason games this summer. He previously played for the Los Angeles Rams and appeared in just four games in two seasons.

Elijah Lee, 25, is in his fifth year, with previous tours at San Francisco and Detroit. He has played in 50 NFL games.

Jovante Moffatt, 24, a safety from Middle Tennessee State, saw action with the Browns last season in nine games, mostly on special teams.

JoJo Natson, 27 is in his fifth year as a professional punt and kickoff returner who is also an extra wide receiver. The Browns also deployed him out of the backfield. He reminds fans of Gerald “The Cube” McNeil.

Johnny Stanton, 27, has got to play fullback in the NFL, it says here. He did everything this preseason: blocked, received passes, and ran the ball. He was a quarterback and linebacker at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. It doesn’t seem humanly possible that offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt can resist installing him in the backfield.

Curtis Weaver, 23, is a pass-rushing specialist from Boise State originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins.
