Cleveland Browns player feeling pressure, No. 2: Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE

Arguably the most exciting and interesting signing this offseason was the former No. 1 overall pick, Jadeveon Clowney. Clowney has every asset you need to be a dominant edge rusher in this league, yet he is now in year eight and has never really proven himself to be considered one of the best.

Even when lined up opposite of J.J. Watt while with the Houston Texans, he never really was truly the dominant player he was supposed to be coming out of South Carolina. Hopefully, with Myles Garrett, the attention on Clowney will be significantly lower.

But the question mark at the defensive tackle position sure doesn’t help to take guys away from him. Clowney doesn’t necessarily need to prove he is one of the best at his position, but he needs to prove he is worthy of a long-term contract on this football team.

He’s not somebody that will get you a lot of sacks, but will get you a lot of pressure and will help you mightily in the run game. With how improved Cleveland’s defense is, Clowney really doesn’t have to do more than those two assignments to prove himself and earn himself a long-term roster spot.
