No. 1 reason Cleveland Browns shouldn’t panic – The star power is there

The biggest takeaway I have from Sunday, the Browns have several elite players. Denzel Ward, John Johnson, and Myles Garrett all had moments of complete dominance today. Tyreek Hill had a ton of receiving yards, but Ward honestly did a great job on him.

Johnson was flying all over the field and saved several big plays from happening and made a lot of great tackles. Garrett only had one sack on the day, but he flushed Mahomes from the pocket several times and had pressure on more than few dropbacks.

The biggest stars of the day though? The improvement of Mayfield throwing the football, and the play-calling from Stefanski. We know that Chubb is great, but those two guys together looked unstoppable.

Mayfield wasn’t just throwing to wide-open guys. He was hitting guys in stride and in areas where only his guy could get the ball. In my opinion, he was nearly perfect today, and that is why it’s such a shame the game ended the way it did.

And fans, there is zero doubt that Stefanski is the guy this city has needed for 20 years. You will never see a mental mistake from him, and he continues to prove he can game plan as well as any coach in the NFL.

The Browns may have ended up on the wrong side today, but they are going to win a lot of football games in 2021, and hopefully find themselves playing deep into January and February.
