1. Justin Reid, S

This player might be a bit surprising to some of you reading this, but hear me out.

Justin Reid is one of the more underrated safeties in the entire NFL, who certainly doesn’t get enough credit. Like Cooks, he isn’t one of the premier safeties in the league, but he deserves a lot of attention from quarterback Baker Mayfield on Sunday.

Reid will look to break up any pass Mayfield throws his way, with the hopes of picking him off. Speaking of interceptions, Reid had one of the Texans three against Lawrence in Week 1 to go along with a pass defensed, and four tackles (two solo).

That gives Reid six interceptions, 20 passes defensed, and 253 tackles (191 solo) for his career. He has been a productive player for Houston, where he has spent his first four years.

The Week 1 NFLPA Community MVP will need to bring his A-game and a lunch to take on the likes of Jarvis Landry, rookie Anthony Schwartz, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Rashard Higgins, and potentially a debuting Odell Beckham Jr.

Regardless of who Reid defends in the secondary, he can’t afford to gamble too much or Mayfield will surely make him pay.

dark. Next. Browns defense is trending upward

The Texans are the heavy underdog heading into Sunday’s matchup, but if the Browns want to secure a win, they will have to keep a close eye on the four aforementioned players.
