Cleveland Browns Bold Prediction No. 3: Baker Mayfield will complete over 75 % of his passes with zero interceptions

This is not so much a bold prediction as it is an expectation. Baker Mayfield came out in Week 1 firing on all cylinders against the Chiefs. Mayfield completed 21-of-28 passing attempts for 321 yards. That is a 75% completion percentage.

Mayfield will replicate his efficiency this Sunday against the Texans completing over 75% of his passing attempts. One major difference in his stat line will be in the interception column. Last Sunday Mayfield was picked off as he attempted to throw the ball away while getting his feet taken out from under him. Not one to make excuses, Mayfield knows that he needs to keep the ball out of harm’s way.

On Sunday, Mayfield will pick up where he left off last week and last season. Mayfield is at his best when he is playing the role of point guard on offense by letting the defense dictate where the ball goes. Some would call that being a game manager, others would say that Mayfield is an excellent decision-maker and a facilitator. I belong in the latter camp.

Mayfield’s stat line on Sunday: 20 completions out of 25 attempts, 285 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Along with the impressive stat line, Mayfield will get what matters most…a win.
