Cleveland Browns Bold Prediction No. 3: Nick Chubb puts another game on ice with a long TD run

There is not too much in life that you can count on. However, some things are a guarantee: death, taxes, and Nick Chubb being the best pure runner of the football. So far through two games, Chubb has carried the ball 26 times for 178 yards.

There is an overwhelming sentiment that if coach Stefanski was not concerned with keeping Chubb fresh, the rushing title would be a foregone conclusion. Chubb does not see the volume that other workhorse running backs around the league do, but he accounts for this by maximizing each attempt he gets. Simply put, Chubb is not counting touches he is making his touches count.

Because of Chubb’s combination of power, speed, and vision; this next prediction is not bold, it’s simply an inevitability. Nick Chubb is going to score a touchdown that is longer than 40 yards. The bold part of the prediction is that he is going to do it in the fourth quarter when everyone that is watching the game knows he is going to get the ball.

That is the most impressive part of Chubb’s game. His best runs come at a time when other running backs simply can’t excel. For his career, Chubb averages just shy of seven yards a carry when the Browns have a lead with under four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. When the Browns have a lead with under two minutes to play, it’s even more ridiculous, Chubb averages over 10 yards a carry.

Look for those averages to look even more ridiculous as Chubb ices yet another team with a huge touchdown run to put the game away.
