3. Cleveland Browns linebacker, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

When the Browns were on the clock at No. 26 in the 2021 NFL Draft, there were reports that they considered taking Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. They ended up going in a different route, however, as they elected to take Northwestern cornerback Greg Newsome II.

They still believed Owusu-Koramoah had first-round talent but the need — as well as positional value — was too much to pass on, so they took Newsome. They wound up being thrilled with that decision not only because of how well Newsome has played but also because of the fact the JOK fell to them in the second round.

Owusu-Koramoah wound up being the 52nd overall pick and while there was a reported heart condition that scared some teams, Cleveland never wavered in their faith in him as a player. He was also given a clean bill of health before the season and so far has managed to be a key figure in the Browns defense.

On Sunday, he even got his first start and it was clear that he was ready for the opportunity. Owusu-Koramoah ended up with four tackles and a half-sack as he was flying all over the field for Cleveland. He even tossed aside offensive tackle Jason Peters to stuff a third-down run early in the game against Chicago while adding a tackle for a loss a couple of drives later. This kid is a game-changer and the more comfortable he gets in the NFL, the more apparent that will become.
