Cleveland Browns: Vikings player to watch No. 2 – Danielle Hunter, Defensive End

Another long-time Minnesota Viking is defensive end, Danielle Hunter. The former third-round pick from LSU missed all the 2020 season but has started out hot once again in 2021. In the first three games, Hunter has four sacks, 16 tackles, and five quarterback hits.

Let’s not forget, Hunter has had more than 10 sacks in a season three times, including 14.5 sacks in both the 2018 and 2019 seasons where he earned pro-bowl honors.

Another huge factor in this game is the health of Jed Wills. He has battled through an ankle injury the last two weeks and just hasn’t looked healthy. His ability to get depth in his pass set has been hindered, and if he isn’t healthy, Blake Hance or Chris Hubbard are likely better options.

What does this mean for the Browns offense? Look for tight ends and running backs to help the left tackle out substantially. A chip on the way out for a route, or even a full double team will be in order to make sure he isn’t chasing around Baker Mayfield all day.

The Cleveland Browns have one of the better offensive lines in the league, but last week they showed they aren’t invincible. Giving up zero sacks in an NFL game is extremely tough, but the Browns need to limit it to two sacks on Sunday to give themselves a chance to win the game.
