Cleveland Browns: Vikings player to watch No. 1 – Dalvin Cook, Running Back

When healthy, Dalvin Cook is a running back that can be equally or more effective than Nick Chubb. Not only does he run the ball hard, but he can also catch the ball out of the backfield and turn a short catch into a huge play.

In two games of action this year, Cook has 192 rushing yards, 60 receiving yards, and one total touchdown. However, an ankle injury kept him out of the Vikings victory on Sunday vs. the Seahawks and there are a few questions on if he will play this weekend vs. the Cleveland Browns.

With an additional week of rest and a big home game to try and get the Vikings back to 500, I expect Cook to at least give it a go. What we will only know with time is if he is truly healthy.

The Cleveland Browns defense must be careful to not get lulled to sleep with Cook. A three-yard run followed by three more four-yard runs can take the aggression out of a defense and then in the snap of a finger he can bust a huge one.

Cleveland’s offense can be their best defense on Sunday as well. If they can get one or two stops and put 10 points on the board early, it can take a lot of those running plays out of the equation. Cousins is a great quarterback, but he isn’t built to line up in the shotgun and throw the ball 40 times.

Getting off the field early, and getting ahead will be the key ingredients to slowing down Cook, assuming that he will be healthy.
