AFC North Power Rankings No. 2 – Baltimore Ravens

We will have to wait until late in the season to see if the Cleveland Browns can jump the Baltimore Ravens, but at this time I think the Ravens have too many injuries to hold the top position, especially on defense.

Remember, the Ravens are 2-1 right now, but could easily be 0-3. They won last-second games vs. the Chiefs and Lions the last two weeks, and vs. the Lions, it took an NFL record, 66-yard field goal off the post to get it done.

Lamar Jackson is still spectacular, even though I can’t figure out why defenses can’t stop him, and they still have one of the best coaching staffs in the league. However, even with a win over Kansas City this year, they have shown they can be stopped if you can execute your defensive game plan.

The biggest thing the Ravens are missing this year that they have had in the past, an elite running back. Jackson is a fantastic runner, but he has always had a pro-bowl caliber running back and he just won’t in 2021 with all the injuries.

Remember, the Ravens are here only because of injuries now. With another strong offseason and continued progression of their quarterback, it will be hard to keep them out of the top spot for much more than one season.
